Acer Academy is a special school for pupils aged 11-16 years who have a diagnosis of Autism/SEMH, and we are part of Kings Academy Trust.
We have high aspirations for our children and young people, and we aim to provide a high quality, relevant and balanced education that focuses on individual, personal and academic achievement to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, develop and succeed.
We want to ensure our children and young people become valued and active members of the community whilst making a successful transition to adulthood and an appropriate level of independence within local communities.
In partnership with our pupils and their parents, our school will provide a stimulating environment where:
Every child or young person will be:
Successful - enjoy learning, make progress, choose pathways that are appropriate to them individually and achieve their potential.
Confident - able to lead safe, healthy, happy and fulfilling lives and have high aspirations.
Responsible - make a positive contribution to our community and society.
At Acer Academy we encourage pupils to respect the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
“We are united in the belief that together we can inspire all learners to dream, persevere and achieve so that we can change lives for the better now and for future generations to come.”
Career Connect gives students, teachers and parents access to information, advice and guidance. Please use the link on this page for more information.
Information and Communication Technology is widely used throughout school with all subject areas using computers, laptops, visualisers, interactive whiteboards etc. Pupils and staff alike can use the latest technology developments to enhance their work.
We take pride in our school and the buildings are well looked after, beautifully enhanced by displays of pupils’ work. All the stakeholders in Acer are aware of the ambitious and exciting plans we have for the future.
