Form Time at Acer Academy
Form time is an integral part of the day at Acer Academy, setting our learners up positively for learning and supporting their wellbeing from the moment they arrive. Our school supports learners with ASD and SEMH, and form time is carefully structured to meet their individual needs.
Form time is split into two key parts. The first part allows learners time to arrive, settle and regulate. During this time, learners are offered breakfast and take part in a calming activity designed to help them feel safe, settled and ready for the day ahead.
The second part of form time focuses on a range of themed activities that run across the week, supporting personal development, communication and social understanding. These include:
Monday: Assembly
Tuesday: Word of the Week
Wednesday: Reading
Thursday: Newsround
Friday: SMSC (Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural development)
This structured yet supportive approach ensures form time provides consistency, routine and meaningful learning opportunities, helping our learners feel prepared, confident and engaged throughout the school day.
